Greg Ewing has served as 2nd Service Director of Music since 2016. Greg grew up right here in Wellington and was baptized, raised, and confirmed here in our local Methodist church. He and his wife Juliah live just down the street with their four children Anna, Evie, Liam, and Daniel along with their cat Ocho. When he is not making music, Greg enjoys his work as an Electrical Certification Engineer in the Aviation Industry. He also loves camping and spending time enjoying the great outdoors.
Greg enjoys both making and listening to a wide variety of music. He started learning the piano at the age of 8 and despite his protests, his mother promised it would be a valuable skill he'd appreciate later in life....she was correct! From the piano he branched off to the guitar, the hand-bells, and then to the highland bagpipes, along the way he has picked up instruments like the accordion, violin, banjo, mandolin, bass, drums, ukelele, Irish pennywhistle, bellows-blown smallpipes and several other ways of "making a joyful noise". He considers music to be a gift that God has continued to bless his life with and feels grateful to have the opportunity to use these gifts to support the worship of our congregation. Greg remembers a piece of advice he received years before taking the role of Music director in which a band member at a youth camp stated "As a musician, it's important to think of oneself less as a Worship Leader and more as a Lead Worshiper".
